Between the amount of organizations relying on always-on uptime for their mission-critical workloads and the rapid adoption of Internet of Things (IoT) devices to make everyday tools as seamless as possible, it should be no surprise that Distributed Denial of Service attacks (DDoS) are on the rise.
What is surprising is the lack of adequate protection and planning in place for many. In fact, a survey conducted by Corero found that 58 percent of IT Professionals are still relying on “home grown” solutions and traditional security infrastructure, like firewalls, to protect against DDoS attacks. Just over a third (36 percent) are adopting cloud-based solutions and an additional 35 percent are using on-premises DDoS mitigation products.
